BENEFIT RELATED FREE SCHOOL MEALS DURING THE COVID-19 CLOSURE
We have been working on provision of benefit related free school meals for those who, according to our records, are entitled. Hertfordshire Catering are able to provide a packed lunch for your child/en each week day under the current guidelines, but it will be a set packed lunch depending on what food is available and it is not possible for your child to chose alternatives, although we do need you to tell us if they have allergies. We have been able to purchase a few food vouchers but these are extremely limited and so we have had to prioritise, and these families have already texted separately with information.
So that food is not wasted, particularly under the current situation, we need to know if you would like a packed lunch for your child/ren. This cannot vary on a day to day to day basis, we need to know if you do, or don’t want this service. Those children who are in school will be given a hot meal at lunch time, unless you decide to send them in with a packed lunch. If your child is not in school and you have chosen to opt in to this service, you will need to come to school each week day between 11am and 11.45am to collect the named packed lunch from the school gate, keeping a safe distance from any other people not in your household. Please could we ask that only one adult collects the lunch, and you only bring your child/ren if they cannot safely be left at home with another adult.
If you want a packed lunch for your child, please email firstname.lastname@example.org by 6pm today, Wednesday 25th March, stating that you do want this service (remember to mention if they allergies). Please remember if you say yes, you cannot change your mind on a day to day basis, although if your circumstances change completely and you no longer require this please email admin and tell us. If we do not hear from you by email to admin by the deadline we will assume that you do not want this service.
Can we also let you know that any contact regarding these meals or vouchers will be via school gateway or the school admin email address, if you receive a text or email asking you for bank details, please report this to the local authorities.
