PSHE and RSHE
It is the intention of Priors Wood Primary School to teach high-quality, age-appropriate, pupil-sensitive, evidence-based Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) that sits within and alongside our robust and comprehensive Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) offer. It is essential that we teach about and demonstrate a respect for the law and all the communities that are part of Priors Wood.
It is expected that both RSHE and PSHE at Priors Wood will help pupils to learn about themselves and the world they live in, giving them the skills, understanding and information they need for life. This will help them stay safe and to flourish, not just in childhood, but into adulthood and for the rest of their lives. This is why both RSHE and PSHE are such important parts of the curriculum.Priors Wood PSHE & RSHE Curriculum Map
At Priors Wood, we use the 1Decision scheme of work as part of our PSHE curriculum.
They provide interactive PSHE resources for primary children. As part of the media generation, it highlights engagement and teaching from a young age. The resources and modules help teachers and pupils alike navigate through interactive content that's suitable for all learning styles. Each module is carefully created by PSHE and Safeguarding experts together with schools and, most importantly, children.
1Decision also have a parent/carer zone for you to explore some of the resources that could be used. We at Priors Wood ensure that every resource used is age and stage appropriate for the children in our school. If you have any questions about our resources, teaching or content, please contact the office (admin@priorswood.herts.sch.uk) and ask for Mr Frecknall - Assistant Headteacher/PSHE Lead.
