Year 3 Class Visit to Celtic Harmony Camp
Dear Parents & Carers of Year 3 Children,
CLASS 3 VISIT TO CELTIC HARMONY CAMP – WEDNESDAY 3RD DECEMBER 2025
We have arranged for Class 3 to visit the Celtic Harmony Camp in Brickendon on Wednesday 3rd December where the children will take part in a Stone Age Day. This term our topic will be ‘The Changes in Britain from the Stone Age through to the Iron Age’ and so a trip to Celtic Harmony Camp is a must! The day will include building a woodland shelter, watching a flint knapping demonstration, viewing stone tools, hunting the mammoth and lots of other exciting activities. We aim to leave school shortly after registration and be back by the end of the school day.
On the day all children will need to bring a packed lunch and two drinks (non-fizzy and not in glass bottles), but please no sweets, nuts or chocolate. Celtic Harmony Camp makes efficient use of natural resources and try to keep waste to a minimum. Therefore, our challenge is to try as hard as we can to bring a waste-free packed lunch (E.g Tupperware instead of plastic bags etc.) We will be discussing this in class before the trip. If you would prefer to order a school packed lunch for your child please email admin@priorswood.herts.sch.uk by Friday 28th November at the latest to let us know which choice (ham or cheese) your child would like.
Children should wear warm casual, old clothes and sturdy boots/shoes (wellingtons if wet) on the day and because we will be spending lots of time outside, they will need to bring a warm/waterproof coat. If children would prefer to they may dress up in Stone Age costumes for the visit and Mrs Lawrance will send home further details on Seesaw.
The voluntary cost, which includes a charge for admission, a coach, and personal insurance is £36.56 per child, but for those in receipt of the pupil premium grant the cost will be £16.26.
The cost of the trip has been split into 2 instalments so that parents may spread the cost if you wish to, and please be aware that this is our main class trip of the school year and other local visits later in the academic year will be at a very small, nominal charge.
Please give consent on Arbor under trips by Friday 7th November, and please ensure that both instalments are paid by Monday 1st December at the very latest. Please do not hesitate to speak to us in confidence if payment may be an issue. I would like to remind you that although payment is voluntary, the trip may not go ahead if not enough parents pay towards the cost.
Yours sincerely,
Mr A Bishop
Head Teacher
