Reception Class Visit to Hartham Common

Dear Parents and Carers of Reception Children,

 Reception Class Visit to Hartham, Hertford, Tuesday 15^th July 2025

We have arranged to take the Reception class children to Hartham Park in Hertford on Tuesday 15^th July. The children will travel to the park by train and will return to school by bus.

The purpose of this trip is to enrich the children’s understanding of different modes of transport, promote safety within the community, observe signs of summer, and celebrate the end of a very busy school year with some well-deserved fun.

Please could children be brought directly to Ware train station at 9.30am where they will be met by staff.  Alternatively children can be brought to school for 8.40 for a prompt 8.50am walk to the station with staff, but we need to know numbers of children walking in advance so please email admin@priorswood.herts.sch.uk to let us know by Friday 11^th July at the very latest if this is the case.

The day will include games at the park, a picnic lunch, and an ice cream treat before we return to school. (The ice cream is included in the trip cost so please don’t send your child in with any money on the day!).  We will be returning to Priors Wood in time for the usual end of the school day.

On the day please ensure that your child has the following:

• Wears school uniform
• Has suncream applied before leaving home
• A sunhat
• A bottle of water
• *A packed lunch

*If you would like to order your child a school packed lunch please email admin@priorswood.herts.sch.uk by Friday 11^th July at the very latest as this must be ordered in advance.

The voluntary cost of the trip is £3.00 per child, and payment should be made via Arbor, under trips, by Friday 4^th July.

If you are available to assist on the day of the trip, please let either the school office or myself know.
