Parent Forum Meeting
Dear Parents and Carers,
I'm excited to introduce a new opportunity for you to be more involved in school life at Priors Wood Primary School – our Parent Forum.
What is the Parent Forum?
The Parent Forum is an informal meeting where parents come together with myself and the school leadership team. This is your chance to:
- Gain insight into how our school works – understand our priorities, challenges and decision-making processes
- Have your say – share your perspectives and ideas on school matters
- Shape our future – help us make informed decisions that benefit all our children
- Ask questions – raise any concerns or queries about any aspect of school life
The forum is informal and advisory, creating a welcoming space for open dialogue between you and the leadership team.
Our First Meeting
We're holding our inaugural Parent Forum with two session options to make it as accessible as possible:
Option 1: Monday 2nd February at 5:30pm
Option 2: Wednesday 4th February at 2:15pm
Option 2: Wednesday 4th February at 2:15pm
What we'll cover
Main topic: We understand the short notice of the dates provided. This is because we would like to provide understanding of the new Ofsted framework and report card format. With Ofsted's new inspection framework now in place that we were inspected under, we want to help you understand what it means and how schools are now evaluated. This will prepare you for when our own report card is released, so you'll know exactly what you're reading and what it tells you about our school.
Plus:
- Open Q&A about any aspect of school life
- Your opportunity to share ideas and feedback
- A chance for us to hear what matters most to you
Why Your Involvement Matters
Parent forums help us learn about our school community and parental perspectives, raise school awareness of views that otherwise wouldn't be heard, and consult on change such as school improvement, projects, and policy proposals. Your insights help us make better decisions for all our children, and bringing issues for discussion while allowing parents time to bring up any issues they're interested in ensures we're addressing what truly matters to our community.
You don't need to prepare anything – just bring your questions, ideas and perspectives. All parents and carers are welcome, whether you can attend every forum or just drop in when a topic interests you.
Looking Ahead
We plan to hold Parent Forums regularly throughout the year, covering different topics and always with time for your questions. We will feedback at future forums actions we have taken from the last session.
I look forward to seeing you at our first forum and working together to make Priors Wood Primary School the best it can be for all our children.
Warm regards,
Mr Bishop
Headteacher
