Dance Days - Flamenco Dance Workshop for Nursery through to Year 6
Dear Parents/Carers,
I am writing to inform you about our first ever World Spanish Language Day celebration taking place at Priors Wood. We will be marking this occasion at school on Wednesday 30th April. The aims of the day are to increase the children's enjoyment and awareness of Spanish, to teach the children about Spanish culture and to encourage the children to speak and listen to the language.
To celebrate World Spanish Language Day, the children will be coming off timetable and taking part in lots of exciting activities. They will have the opportunity to prepare Spanish cuisine, and they will also get to take part in a flamenco dance workshop. They will learn about Spanish art and music, and they will learn more about Spanish culture. There will also be opportunities throughout the day for children to listen to the language spoken fluently. On the day, children may come to school in non-uniform, and we strongly encourage children to wear as much red and/or yellow as possible as a nod to the Spanish flag! For example, children might wear red/yellow t-shirts, hair accessories, socks, etc.
We are very excited to mark World Spanish Language Day for the first time ever at Priors Wood, and we hope that the children will enjoy learning more about our modern foreign language taught here at the school.
Kind regards,
Mrs Browning (MFL coordinator).
